Basic Brunches does Chelsea Corner

I love hidden gems. Restaurants in a slight off-beaten path that are fabulous! Chelsea Corner is my new favorite hidden gem. Located in a mix of Knox/Henderson and Uptown, Chelsea Corner offers brunch, bites, and late night life.

Nestled in a restored 1926 building, Chelsea Corner is visually stunning. Offering 4 distinct “zones” you can have a totally different experience every time. There’s the main bar area providing seats all around the bar, booths lining the walls, and an elevated platform for all your people-watching pleasures. The garden room, my personal favorite, is in the back left corner, featuring a 25ft double story skylight, living wall, and dual roll-up glass café doors. It’s like dining al fresco without having to actually be outdoors. But if you want to be outdoors, for those 2 weeks in spring where it’s not 1,000 degrees outside, there’s both a front patio and back patio. The back patio is 2,500 square foot and tree lined, featuring corn hole, giant sized connect four, patio jenga, and 3 large HD screens. Last but not least, the game room. With vintage decor and games like pool and foosball, this is the area you come to get your competition on while watching the game on one of the 7 HD screens.

Brunch is served both Saturday and Sunday (Sunday offering 1/2 off bottles of champagne).

Drinks:

While the brunch cocktails are aplenty, I suggest the peach bellini. I know I rave about mimosas all the time, but I secretly love bellinis more. The peach juice makes the drink less acidic than orange juice while offering a crisp clean flavor. Whichever way your champagne tastes lie, both are $3.

Food:

Chelsea Corner Beignets

Not your traditional beignets of NOLA. These are a mix of beignet and donut hole. But fried dough is fried dough. Also, it comes topped with a heavy drizzle of the most delicious lemon curd imaginable.

Chelsea Corner Benedict

Traditional Benedict (ham, poached eggs, and Hollandaise) served over CUT UP english muffin. They cut your english muffin for you! Which makes it so much easier to eat. Served with a side of home fries. Their home fries are more like a hash so keep that in the back of your mind.

The Roadhouse Burger

Double meat. Double cheese. Cooked on the griddle and layered with lettuce, tomato and caramelized onions. You can add homemade 1000 island dressing, I didn’t. This burger was JUUUUUUICY.

Baked to order, and the size of your head. This is the best thing for anyone with a sweet tooth.

I’m always a girl with a hunt for a bargain and I have to say, Chelsea Corner is shockingly affordable. Considering the fact that I’ve eaten at a lot of brunch places all around that area. I love affordability and high quality and here you get both. Downside, the parking is street parking. Plus side, they offer complimentary valet which I would suggest you take advantage of.
